In ceramics, earth is transformed by guiding hands, fire and minerals into something durable and beautiful and functional.
In sculpture there is a moment where the clay becomes flesh and the artist’s idea is realised.
Bronzing is a process that transforms the sculpt via moulding into waxes, which with more moulding and ferocious heat, transform what was ceramic into bronze.
In the final transformation, the finishing and patination of the bronze, there comes a point where the metal becomes flesh.
The moment of the original idea in ceramic, long past, has evolved to become an extraordinary work of art capable of enduring ages.
When you look at a bronze sculpture you sense this timelessness.
It is the creation of memory. Bronze as an element embodies life, emotion and meaning. Through time it is graced by the patina of our lived history.

Emerging Wolf
This piece was commissioned in earthen clay as a functional and at the same time decorative statement piece. Dimensions 50cm width x 90cm height.
Artist’s reflections:
Within each one of us resides the “Dog of Obedience” and the “Wolf of Rebellion”. This was an organic piece that was created out of the artist’s own life journey, a phase in time when the “Wolf of Rebellion” decided to finally emerge. We have all dipped in and out of compliance, people pleasing, the need to belong to a tribe. All valid tendencies. Done unconsciously, it sacrifices boundaries, authenticity, and self-connection. Allow the Wolf of Rebellion to remain healthy and fierce. Allow it to emerge at the ripe time.
